Family Classes

We offer various three-week classes for children (and caregiver) to dive deep into STEM and creativity. The activities developed for our classes highlight our open-ended, child-directed educational philosophy. Classes are designed for small groups with no more than 12 children.

Outdoor Learning (October 13, 20, & 27)

Series: October 13, 20, & 27; 10 – 11 a.m.

Ages: 2 – 4

Outdoor Learning is a three-week series class where children (and caregiver) explore the wonders of our natural surroundings in Fort Baker. Children take an in-depth look at local plants and animal habitats at Coast Guard Beach, Fort Baker Parade Grounds, and in our various outdoor exhibits. Adult participation required.

Series: October 14, 21, & 28; 10 – 11 a.m.

Ages: 2 – 4

Outdoor Learning is a three-week series class where children (and caregiver) explore the wonders of our natural surroundings in Fort Baker. Get Ready to Get Messy: Chemistry Experiments (November 3, 10, 17)

Series: November 3, 10, 17; 10 – 11 a.m.

Ages: 2 – 4

Get Ready to Get Messy: Chemistry Experiments is a three-week series class where children (and caregiver) experiment with various materials, and observe the results using scientific methods. Activities may include flour painting, mixing potions, and collaborative play. Adult participation required.

Get Ready to Get Messy Texture Exploration (December 1, 8, 15)

Series 1: December 1, 8, 15; 10 – 11 a.m.

Ages: 2 – 4

Get Ready to Get Messy: Texture Exploration is a three-week series class where children (and caregiver) utilize scientific methods and experimentation to compare and contrast various materials in an art setting. Activities may include collage making with natural materials, bubble wrap painting, play dough making, finger painting, and ice experiments. Adult participation required.

Get Ready to Get Messy Texture Exploration (December 2, 9, 16)

Series: December 2, 9, 16; 10 – 11 a.m.

Ages: 2 – 4

Get Ready to Get Messy: Texture Exploration is a three-week series class where children (and caregiver) utilize scientific methods and experimentation to compare and contrast various materials in an art setting. Activities may include collage making with natural materials, bubble wrap painting, play dough making, finger painting, and ice experiments. Adult participation required.

Activities may include finger painting, test tube experiments, and collaborative collage. Adult participation required.

Family Class Policy

No make up classes. In the event a customer misses a class, we do not offer make up days to be applied to future classes. No refunds are given for a customer missing a class.
