10 Art Adventures for Families in Golden Gate National Recreation Area

Go on an outdoor art adventure with your kids in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA)! Use our curated guide, the Bay Area Discovery Museum’s Art Adventure in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, which features 10 public art destinations within the GGNRA to explore and inspire your child’s creative thinking skills.

Research has shown that exposing children to professional artwork encourages them to learn about different cultures, develop ways to express themselves, and practice articulating their thoughts and ideas.

Our Art Adventure features:

  1. Wingding, Patrick Dougherty
  2. Headlands Center for the Arts
  3. The Ghost Below/Ghost Net Monster, Judith Selby and Richard Lang
  4. Spire, Andy Goldsworthy
  5. Woodline, Andy Goldsworthy
  6. Sutro Baths
  7. Camera Obscura
  8. Rock Labyrinth
  9. Legion of Honor
  10. Graffiti (throughout GGNRA)

Download the full guide here. And don’t forget to share your art adventure experience and any corresponding artwork with us on social media by using #BADMArtAdventure.
