STEM Superhero Series

The Bay Area Discovery Museum’s STEM Superhero Series is a four-part festival for families that promotes and celebrates early learning STEM concepts and the power of every child to use their problem solving skills to improve the future. Each festival features a variety of STEM activities, which challenge young children to design, imagine, and test innovations to solve specific problems.

To encourage kids to use their STEM super-skills, upon arrival each child receives a superhero cape and event badge to wear as they find creative solutions to problems.

Price: The event series is included with general museum admission and free for members.

Children use their STEM skills to discover the best ways for us to grow, obtain, and distribute food in the future. Through various activities, children learn about bioengineered foods, composting, organic gardening and more.


STEM Superhero Series: The Future of Human Health

9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Children learn about the human body and healthcare system through various STEM activities, including solving puzzles using biological building blocks to taking vitals. 


STEM Superhero Series: The Future of Space and Astronomy

Saturday, June 3, 2017

9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Children explore space and astronomy through various STEM activities, including designing food for space and building tools for the Mars Rover.

Children use their STEM skills to design, imagine, and test innovations around robotics. Activities include testing robot circuitry, programming robots to follow commands, and using everyday objects to engineer instruments.
