Bay Area Discovery Museum, Cavallo Point, and the Parks Conservancy to Host Fort Baker Community Celebration on August

Event is open to the public with free museum admission, barbecue, music, and special activities.

What: In partnership with Cavallo Point and the Parks Conservancy, the Bay Area Discovery Museum is celebrating the National Park Service Centennial with the Fort Baker Community Celebration. Fort Baker Community Celebration features an array of activities, including:

  • Free admission to Bay Area Discovery Museum
  • Display/demo of trucks and tractors used by National Parks Service
  • Barbecue and live music at Cavallo Point (Kids under 10 eat free with paying adult)
  • Historic property tours of Cavallo Point
  • Presentation by photographer and filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg
  • Art exhibition featuring legendary photographer Ansel Adams’ “Portfolio Two: The National Parks & Monuments”

Why: To celebrate the National Park Service’s 100th anniversary, the Bay Area Discovery Museum, Cavallo Point, and the Parks Conservancy are hosting Fort Baker Community Celebration.

Who: Everyone is invited to Fort Baker Community Celebration for free activities, great food, and community spirit at Fort Baker. All visitors receive free admission to the Bay Area Discovery Museum to enjoy its 7.5-acre site with indoor and outdoor exhibitions and programs for children 6 months of age to 10 years. 

When: Wednesday, August 3, 2016, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Where: Fort Baker is located in Sausalito at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge. The Bay Area Discovery Museum is located at 557 McReynolds Road, Sausalito, California, 94965.
