Sausalito, CA – Bring the family to the Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM) this winter! BADM is hosting numerous special exhibits, festivals, and musical performances to celebrate the season. See calendar listings below for events in November, December, and January.

Special Exhibit: Iceless Skating Rink
What: Hit the “ice” this winter with family and friends at the Bay Area Discovery Museum’s Iceless Skating Rink! Children can strap on ice skates and glide around on a synthetic ice rink in Discovery Hall.
Who: Children ages 6 months to 10 years
When: November 19, 2016 – January 8, 2017

Music Performance: Dream Circle
What: Celebrate the winter holiday season with this special music performance from all-star local lineup Dream Circle, featuring Tim Cain, Miss Kitty, Cindy Cohen, and Christopher Smith. Sing and dance along to songs about Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, and Chinese New Year.
Who: Families with children ages 6 months to 10 years
When: Saturday, December 10, 2016, 10:30 – 11:15 a.m. & 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Music Performance: Juice and Jelly
What: Dance along to winter-themed songs by the San Francisco-based band Juice and Jelly.
Who: Families with children ages 6 months to 10 years
When: Sunday, December 11, 2016, 10:30 – 11:15 a.m. & 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

Music Performance: Jelly Jam Time
What: Risa Lenore Dye of Jelly Jam Time leads children through a creative and imaginative journey using a mix of storytelling, dance, and theater. This performance focuses on the arrival of winter.

When: Saturday, December 17, 2016 & Sunday, December 18, 10:30 – 11:15 a.m. & 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

Festival: Noon Year’s Eve Party
What: Ring in the New Year with your little ones at this kid-friendly affair, featuring music by DJ ManCub, a celebratory ball drop at noon, dancing, and various art activities. Plus, enjoy access to the museum’s indoor and outdoor exhibits like Lookout Cove and Bay Hall. (Note: Iceless Skating Rink is closed during Noon Year’s Eve Party.)

What: Jam along with JimBo Trout’s fast picking guitar and banjo as he sings original tunes and a few childhood favorites.

Special Exhibit: Rainforest Adventure
What: Rainforest Adventure is a multisensory expedition that introduces children to tropical rainforests around the world, highlights the challenges facing these unique ecological wonders, and suggests ways that people can make a difference. Children are introduced to scientists and the ways they study rainforests, and role-play as research assistants on a series of problem-solving adventures. Rainforest Adventure was created by Stepping Stones Museum for Children.

Festival: Art Party
What: Experience the joys of art! Meet local artists, view a diverse set of artwork, participate in hands-on arts programming, and see famed artist Patrick Dougherty’s new large-scale willow sculpture in Lookout Cove.

Free Museum Admission: Free First Wednesday
What: Admission to the Bay Area Discovery Museum is free to the general public on the first Wednesday of each month thanks to the generous support from ScholarShare 529 College Savings Plan.
Who: Everyone
When: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on December 7, 2016, January 4, 2017, and February 1, 2017
