Birthday Parties

Birthday Parties bookings will be available for members on Dec. 11 and non-members Dec. 14.

Make your child’s next birthday party an extra special day full of discovery, joyful play and meaningful memories under the Golden Gate Bridge. 

We will take care of all the details, so you can focus on the fun and the memories!  No clean-up or fuss necessary.

  2. Pick your party date
  3. Select your playful program designed by our education team
  4. (optional) Choose the add-ons that suit your party best
  5. Schedule your party planning phone call with our Events Manager to walk through all the details.

Days and Times: 

Starting mid-January.

  • Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. or 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.

All Party Packages Include:

  • Free entry into the museum for party guests
  • Support of our experienced Events Team
  • 2-hour exclusive use of private space  
  • Completely decorated room with fun and festive colors
  • All the essentials for your party: tables, chairs, plates, cups, napkins and utensils
  • Playful learning activity designed by a museum Educator
  • 30-minute set-up and 30-minute breakdown for the party host supported by Events Team
  • Pre-party call with our Events Manager to help you plan a stress-free, joyful celebration

Add-Ons:

  • Gift bags for each of your guests from the museum store.
    • Small gift bag - $10: Includes Bay Area Discovery Museum party favors and one small item from the store.
    • Large gift bag - $15: Includes Bay Area Discovery Museum party favors and one large item from the store.
  • Photobooth, $250. Prints are unlimited! Our props, coupled with your guests’ imaginations mean the options are endless.

Bridge Room
Members: $750
Non-Members: $800

The Bridge Room (170 sq. ft.) offers one of the museum’s best views of the Golden Gate Bridge, and features outdoor dining tables and a location right next to Lookout Cove.

Playhouse
Members: $1500
Non-Members: $1550

The Playhouse (950 sq. ft.) is centrally located within the museum, giving party attendees easy access to enjoy spaces like Lookout Cove, Festival Plaza, and the Art Studios.

Discovery Theatre
Members: $2500
Non-Members: $2550

Discovery Theater (2280 sq. Ft) is conveniently located in the entry pavilion and close to our beach nestled underneath the Golden Gate Bridge. This space is great for larger parties.

Additional Information:
