The World’s First Early Learning Fab Lab
Fab Labs are maker spaces with digital fabrication technology such as 3-D printers, laser cutters, and vinyl cutters. Our Fab Lab is the world’s first for early learning, enabling children to intentionally build science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills through hands-on learning. Exhibit entry is free for members and included in the price of museum admission.
Coming Soon: Try It Studio and How Things Work
The Fab Lab will be closed to the public beginning January 6.
Renovations will begin soon on the building that currently houses the Fab Lab to get ready for our new How Things Work exhibit!
Why is the Fab Lab closing?
Since opening the Fab Lab in 2016, BADM has learned an incredible amount about how our Fab Lab can introduce fun, interactive activities to children and families. With this in mind, the new home for hands-on engineering will be our upcoming Try It Studio. The Try It Studio’s new exhibit will feature a design challenge area where children will use BADM’s engineering design process Think, Make, Try® to solve unique challenges. Renovations of an unoccupied building on Satterlee Way are now underway to house the Try It Studio!
