The World’s First Early Learning Fab Lab
Fab Labs are maker spaces with digital fabrication technology such as 3-D printers, laser cutters, and vinyl cutters. Our Fab Lab is the world’s first for early learning, enabling children to intentionally build science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills through hands-on learning. Exhibit entry is free for members and included in the price of museum admission.
What’s in the Fab Lab?
Fab Lab A: Explore the engineer design process with Rigamajig using wheels, pulleys, nuts, and bolts.
Fab Lab B: Join us for a hands-on program led by our Museum Educators. See below for times and programs.
Fab Lab C: Create tall buildings, bridges, entire cities, and more using KEVA Planks, stackable wooden planks.

New in the Fab Lab
The Fab Lab’s two-year anniversary was in May 2018, and we decided this much-loved space needed a facelift to reach its full potential. We closed the doors, took everything apart, and then put it all back together again. The result? A restructured space that we’re excited to tell you about—and can’t wait for you to come see!
