August is the Last Chance to Visit Storybook Characters at the Bay Area Discovery Museum

Don’t miss your chance to meet The Cat in the Hat and Paddington Bear

Sausalito, CA – During August at the Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM), families can take advantage of the last weeks of summer fun before school starts up again. August is the last month for storybook character visits, where children can share a story and photo opportunity with their favorite fictional friends. Read more about August events below!

The Cat in the Hat and Paddington Bear Visit BADM
On Saturdays and Sundays in August, two more costumed book characters will be at BADM to share stories, meet-and-greets, and photo opportunities with visitors. One of the most classic characters of all time, The Cat in the Hat, will bring his signature mischief to BADM at the beginning of the month. To close out August, Paddington Bear will be on-site. Join us for fun, engaging experiences that will help foster your child’s love of reading!
The Cat in the Hat will be at BADM on August 4-5 and 11-12. Paddington Bear will be at BADM on August 18-19 and 25-26.

Storybook character visits are included in the price of museum admission or free for BADM members.

August Drop-In Programs
Don’t let brain-drain in the summer derail the school year come fall! BADM’s daily STEM and art programs are an opportunity for fun, creative learning that will keep children engaged and get them excited about trying new things. In August, children can take on the role of paleontologists by excavating fossil teeth and comparing their findings to modern teeth. In the Fab Lab, sewing activities for kids of all ages will spark creative design and collaborative thinking. These programs, along with other August offerings, build STEM knowledge, explore novel art techniques, and encourage children to come up with original solutions to unexpected challenges.
For more information on August’s daily drop-in programs, click here.
All drop-in programs are included in the price of museum admission or free for BADM members.
