Starting in June, costumed characters will be on-site for story times and meet-and-greets
Sausalito, CA- Favorite storybook characters are brought to life this summer at the Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM). Starting in June, costumed characters from beloved children’s books will be on-site Saturdays and Sundays for story times, photo opportunities, and meet-and-greets with BADM visitors. Also in June, BADM closes out its 2018 STEM Superhero Festival Series. Read more about June events below!
STEM Superheroes: Amazing Athletes
There’s nothing better than running the fastest race, making the perfect shot, or dancing to your favorite song! STEM Superheroes: Amazing Athletes will celebrate the art of motion in all its many forms. Kids at BADM will explore how STEM concepts impact all their favorite activities, including how knowledge of angles can make you better at basketball and how the proper nutrition gives you more energy.
Join us for STEM Superheroes: Amazing Athletes on June 9-10 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Peter Rabbit and Curious George Visit BADM
The only thing better than enjoying a story about Peter Rabbit or Curious George is enjoying a story with Peter Rabbit and Curious George! Both characters will be on-site at BADM during weekends in June for special story times, meet-and-greets, and photo opportunities. Children will have the chance to see their favorite imaginary character brought to life, while enjoying an engaging literary experience!
Peter Rabbit will be at BADM on June 16 and 17. Curious George will be at BADM on June 23, 24, and 30. Special story times will take place at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on all storybook character days.

June Drop-In Programs
BADM’s daily drop-in programs are the perfect way to kick off a summer of creative fun. In June, kids can practice their observation skills while using a variety of magnification tools or try out new moves in BADM’s very own dance studio! These programs, along with other June offerings, engage kids with STEM and art topics and encourage them to try out new ideas or come up with original solutions to unexpected challenges.
