New findings from the Center for Childhood Creativity (CCC) at the Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM) explore how parents, teachers, and other adults can help support the youngest learners. In the CCC's latest position paper, The Roots of STEM Success: Changing early learning experiences to build lifelong thinking skills, expert authors provide research-backed advice for sharing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) experiences with children aged 0-8.

The Bay Area Discovery Museum’s Try-It Truck is coming to the library this month, on Tuesday, Sept. 19 from 3–6 p.m. Children in grades K–5 will discover hands-on scientific experiences for free with the Try-It Truck, an “engineering lab on wheels” that will introduce children to innovative technologies. Participants will be able to collaborate, experiment, and design solutions for engineering challenges. This remarkable opportunity is sponsored by the Sonoma County Public Library Foundation.

Bay Area Discovery Museum Announces Access Program for Low-Income Families

The Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM) announced that it has joined Museums for All, a signature access program of the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The program will enable low-income families to visit the Bay Area Discovery Museum for a minimal fee of $1 per person with the presentation of an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.
