Step into a canvas of imagination at Big Art Weekend—a festival of art designed to inspire and entertain the whole family. Immerse yourselves in art and experience the joy of creation with special art activities and live music. Members get in free!

Programs from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.:
  • 📕 Art Adventure Guide: Create and decorate your very own adventure handbook for your Big Art journey. 
  • 🦠 Splat Painting with Asé Arts: Make art as you move! Create as you shake!  
  • 🎨 The Painter’s Place: Paint everything in sight! Welcome to our community art gallery.   
  • 🧑‍🍳 Rainbow Kitchen: Become a chef and mixologist by mixing pigments with mud to create colorful feasts in our outdoor mud kitchen.   
  • 🌈  Tissue Paper Tie-Dye: Design your own tapestry by dying fabric with tissue paper. 
  • 💪 Tats by Tots: Who says kids can't run a tattoo parlor? Dream up your design and tattoo yourself or willing family member. Don't worry, these tattoos are washable!
  • 🎶 Live Music with Wasska Project (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.): Enjoy musical performances with Bay Area Latin American band, Wasska Project

Big Art programs run until 3:30 p.m. and the museum closes at 4 p.m. Download the Big Art Map to plan your magical day with your little artist!


Members get free admission to Big Art, and advanced reservations are NOT required for members!
Member Hour: 9 – 10 a.m.
General Admission: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Admission Pass or Discount
  • To use Guest Passes or gain admission through our Access Programs, including Museums for All (EBT), admission passes, or other discounts, simply check in at the front desk; you are guaranteed admission. If using the Museums for All (EBT) program, admission is limited to 6 family members per card.
  • Ticket reservations for these passes do not need to be made in advance.
  • If it's your first time visiting the museum, please register on our website for a more efficient check-in process.
