Empowered Kids Storytime

Empowered Kids

The current pandemic and political situation in our country have further revealed fractures in our society. At BADM, we believe that we can play a role in healing by creating opportunities for belonging and designing experiences that help connect and empower families in our community.

Empowered Kids is a monthly free virtual program that equips your family with tools to explore positive social change in your lives and community. During this program, BADM educators will lead a storytime and create a forum for relevant topics and themes.

This program is designed for children ages four and up and their caregivers, introducing your family to meaningful stories of empathy, humanity, compassion and action. Your child will leave the program with:

  • Tools to build social-emotional skills that cultivate empathy
  • Empowerment to try new things and build a sense of capability and confidence in creating positive change

The program takes place monthly at 9:30 a.m. (30 minutes).

Miriam

I am an educator and naturalist with a desire to foster discussion around social justice issues. As a kid I realized our society is not fair but I didn’t have the knowledge and confidence to take action. I am excited to join the children and families of the BADM community in a journey of learning and empowerment.
