We’re celebrating 40 years of Bay Area Discovery Museum and invite your family to be part of it by leaving your mark on our campus! Add your child’s handprint to our 40th Anniversary Handprint Mosaic, a colorful installation by local artist Angelina Duckett that will come to life on the Festival Plaza steps throughout 2026.

How it Works!

Reserve your child’s handprint!

$1,500 per handprint. Your child will choose the color of their handprint, which will be centered within their own mosaic circle. Their first name will be included, so your family can find and enjoy their handprint for generations to come!

Capacity is limited.

Create the Handprint

Throughout 2026, join one of our special handprint events to meet the mosaic artist, learn about mosaics, and create with your child as they leave their handprint on tile.

Find Your Mark

Your child’s name is on their tile. Return anytime to find it, relive the moment, and run across the steps.

Per Handprint

With support from our partner artist and the museum team, your child will create their own handprint tile—choosing their handprint color and learning about mosaics along the way. Each tile will include your child’s first name, so your family can return to the museum and enjoy it for generations to come!

Capacity is limited. One handprint per child. Handprint making event details shared after purchase.
