Where do members check-in?

All named adults listed on a membership must check-in at the front desk with a staff member before entering the museum. Present your photo ID and e-membership app barcode for easy check in.

How do I access my e-membership card?

Directions to download the eMembership Card app and to get access to your membership cards can be found here. You may need to redownload or refresh the app periodically after updates to your membership and to keep the app up to date. 

How long is my membership active for?

All memberships are active from the date of purchase and expire one year later at the end of the expiration month. (Ex. Sign up on December 1, 2026 and the membership expires December 31, 2027)

Can I apply the cost of my admission towards membership?

Yes! You can apply your tickets towards membership within two weeks. Save your receipt or online order number, and we will apply the number of children and adults covered to the membership level you choose. Complete your purchase in person, online or email us at membership@badm.org with your order number. Need help finding your order number or coupon code? We can assist you through email.

Who can receive free admission using my membership?

The named adults on your membership and the quantity of children allowed for your level of membership receive admission. 

Can I visit other museums for free with my membership?

ASTC & ACM Reciprocal Programs 

Institutions located outside of a 90-mile radius that participate in the Association of Science & Technology Centers (ASTC) offers Bay Area Discovery Museum members free general admission up to 2 adults and 4 children. To receive the ASTC admission, show your eMembership card at any participating museum.

Members at the Platinum and Diamond level also receive 50 percent off admission to more than 180 children’s museums nationwide through the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM). To receive the ACM discount, show your eMembership card at any participating museum.

How do automatic renewals work?

Signing up for automatic renewal saves 10% off your first year of membership. Simply check the box during sign up to enroll in automatic renewal and enter promo code Auto10 at checkout to receive 10% off your first year. Your credit card will be charged on the last day of your membership and it will automatically be renewed for an additional year. We will remind you before your membership expires. 

Is my membership tax deductible?

Membership is tax deductible as allowable by law. Please consult your professional tax advisor for advice on individual deductions. The EIN for the Bay Area Discovery Museum is 68-0033227. 

I’m a teacher, do I get a discount on membership?

We offer teachers a 20% discount on our Silver to Diamond Membership levels. To receive the discount, please provide your current work ID badge or business card before purchasing a membership in person or by emailing membership@badm.org. 

I’m employed by a Bay Area Discovery Museum Corporate Partner, do I get a discount on membership?

Email us at membership@badm.org to inquire if your employer receives a discount on memberships.
