Birthday Party FAQ

The best package for your party will depend on the number of guests you are expecting. The number of guests that are included in the reservation varies by package.

Custom Packages: Capacity is determined by the total number of guests, regardless of whether the guests are children or adults.

All other Packages (Blast, Bounce A Palooza, and Build A Palooza): Capacity for children and capacity for adults is determined separately. Capacity for children is determined by the total number of children ages 6 months - 10 years. Capacity for adults is determined by the total number of attendees over that age.

Capacity includes the birthday child, host family, and all guests (even if they are BADM members).

All parties include a banner, water pitcher with cups, a play corner, music, and staff help with set-up and clean-up. All party spaces have tables and chairs appropriate to the party package.

If you are not interested in a birthday party package and are looking for an outdoor option for small groups, we offer weekend reservation for two outdoor picnic tables:

• Price to Reserve Table: $175
• Picnic Table Availability: Saturday and Sunday: 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. or 1-3 p.m.
• All guests that are not BADM Members must pay museum admission.

Party guest admission is included in the room reservation price, excluding the picnic table reservation! Party guests have free admission all day, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and can explore the museum before, during,  and after the party time.

Guests can arrive at any time and check-in with the front desk. Guests are counted as anyone over six months (per the museum’s admission rules).

We guarantee 15 minutes for party set-up for Discovery Studio and Playhouse parties and 30 minutes for Discovery Theater parties. Our staff will assist with set-up to ensure you are ready by the time your party starts! You may arrive earlier to play, but we do not allow early access to the room. Due to limited storage space, we do not accept party supplies before the day of your.

Our staff assists with set up before the start of the party. At the end time of the party reservation, we will help collect all your decorations, party supplies, and food onto carts. Hosts are not responsible for cleanup of the reserved room. The hosts and guests are encouraged to explore the museum once all belongings have been gathered onto carts, in order to allow for efficient cleanup by our staff. If you choose to arrive early to play, we will do our best to help store party supplies until your setup time

Your time in the party room is 1.5 hour and will begin and end promptly as scheduled. You are welcome to enjoy the museum before, during, and after the party but the room must be vacated on time to accommodate other parties, events, and programs.

We allow any outside food options to be brought in or delivered. A suggested list of nearby catering options can be found here. Please note we do not allow alcohol or Sterno flames (canned fuel that is lighted to heat food trays).

We do not have an ice machine on-site, please bring your own ice.

BADM does not currently offer wifi for visitors.

A $15 administrative fee may be charged to adjust your reservation after booking. There is a $50 fee to reschedule within 2 weeks of your party date.

Cancellations made up to 2 weeks before from the event date will receive a full refund, minus a $150 administrative fee. Cancellations within 2 weeks of the event will result in a 50% refund. This is valid up to the day of your party.

Customize your party with one of our Themed Decorations add-ons! This add-on includes wall decorations and theme-specific items in the play corner (themed plates, cups, napkins, and table cloths are not included).

We do not allow the following items to be brought by the host or guests:

• Balloons of any kind
• Alcohol
• Fake weapons
• Plastic confetti
• Hitting piñatas (String piñatas, which release prizes at the pull of a string, are allowed)
• Sterno flames (canned fuel that is lighted to heat food trays)
• Sparkler/relight candles
• Styrofoam containers

Thank you for your understanding as we strive to keep the surrounding national parkland free of trash and harmful items that may impact the wildlife in our area.

• Admission is included all day – guests can arrive at any time during the museum’s regular hours on the day of the party.
• Children must always be supervised, both during the party and while exploring the museum. A ratio of 1 adult for every 5 children is required.
• Balloons and alcohol are not permitted (please see above for a full list of restricted items).

All parties happen rain or shine, including picnic table rentals.
