Connections – Bay Area Discovery Museum

Connections

Connections is a free school-readiness program that provides research-based early learning experiences to preschool children and their families. Launched in 2008, and today partnering with over 75 subsidized preschool classrooms throughout the Bay Area, Connections exemplifies the Bay Area Discovery Museum’s commitment to making high-quality, play-based learning accessible to all children.

Connections engages students in creative STEAM learning throughout the school year including interactive experiences in partner classrooms led by skilled museum educators and opportunities to visit the Bay Area Discovery Museum. Through participation in this program, students gain critical knowledge that will support them as lifelong learners and prepare them to thrive in school and in life.

Teachers and family members are a vital part of the success of Connections, and in this program they learn valuable strategies to enhance student exploration. As program participants, they receive additional resources including access to free museum memberships for the entire family, STEAM-focused teacher resources and more!

As a multi-year partnership program, Connections works with established partner schools. Although there is no open application process available for this program, if you are interested in learning more about Connections, please feel free to contact us at connections@badm.org.
