Science + You – Bay Area Discovery Museum

Science + You

Science + You opens at the Bay Area Discovery Museum on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

All children are scientists, and in BADM’s new traveling exhibit, Science + You, they’ll be able to look and act the part! In Science + You, children and their families will explore a replica laboratory, where different stations and experiments empower them to make important connections between science and wellness.

Exhibit Details:

Upon entering the exhibit, children wash their hands, wipe their feet, and even walk through a pretend shower before donning their white lab coat! The exhibit features a variety of interactive activities, where visitors can get hands-on with the machinery, processes, and technology that professional scientists use in laboratories every day!

  • In the Mixing and Separating Test Lab visitors can manually separate liquids and solids, and will explore how different types of real lab equipment functions to perform this task.
  • The Magnification Area features specialized equipment that magnifies objects on a large video screen, so visitors can get an up-close look at an array of natural and man-made items.
  • In the Test Kitchen, visitors will make “healthy soup” from a variety of ingredients that represent the five food groups, so visitors can explore the importance of a balanced diet in a fun, interactive way.

Come explore these fun stations and many more at Science + You!
