Bay Area Discovery Museum Hosts Family Gala Fundraiser to Support Work in Early Childhood Education

What: The Bay Area Discovery Museum is hosting its first family gala, Make + Believe. The Museum will be transformed into a magical and futuristic fairytale wonderland with fun activities for all ages, from toddlers to teens. The evening will feature:

  • Ferris Wheel
  • Pirate-Led Treasure Hunts
  • Castle Making in the Fab Lab
  • Special Performances
  • Teen Room
  • Tot Spot Open to Kids of All Ages
  • DJ & Dancing
  • Food & Drinks

Who: Attendees will include local celebrities, Bay Area families, philanthropists, as well as Museum board members, trustees, donors and members.

When: Saturday, May 21, 2016. General admission opens at 5:30 p.m. Host Committee members and their guests receive early entry and special programming between 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. Free valet parking provided.

Media Opportunities: Visuals of children and families enjoying a magical and futuristic fairytale wonderland with pirates, fairies, robots, LED treasure hunts, a Ferris wheel and castle building in the Museum’s brand new, first-of-its-kind Fab Lab. Interviews with Museum leadership and guests.

Why: Proceeds from Make + Believe fund free and reduced Museum admissions and STEM programming for more than 60,000 low-income Bay Area children and families annually.
