Explore How Things Move From Here To There at the Bay Area Discovery Museum

The Bay Area Discovery Museum’s latest special exhibit opens on January 27

Sausalito, CA – On Saturday, January 27, the Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM) will open From Here To There, a new traveling exhibit that explores the science of how things move by land, sea, and air.

The exhibit is comprised of 12 different hands-on activities that provide children an opportunity to engage with both familiar modes of transportation–such as trucks and airplanes–and with a new world of travel that includes magnetic levitation and hovercrafts as possibilities.

Each interaction with the exhibit is a chance to learn about gravity, friction, and the laws of motion that keep things moving through the world.

Children can be challenged to send a hot air balloon soaring, or to navigate a boat safely through a canal lock system complete with changing water levels. They’ll harness the power of the wind to keep a sailboat on course, and send colored balls zooming through tubes that extend from one end of the room to the other.

From Here To There opens at BADM on Saturday, January 27, and runs through Sunday, May 13. For more information on the exhibit, please click here.
