Look Up at the Sun, Moon, and Stars this September at the Bay Area Discovery Museum

The Bay Area Discovery Museum’s new exhibit, My Sky, opens on September 22

Sausalito, CA – The Sun, Moon, and stars are coming to Earth–specifically to the Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM)! My Sky, a new traveling exhibit opening at BADM on September 22, encourages visitors to explore the phenomena of the sky above them through fun, interactive activities. Enjoy Site-Wide Updates
From Monday, September 10 – Friday, September 21, BADM will be closed for annual maintenance. During these annual Closed Weeks, BADM will be making updates to current exhibits and museum spaces, so that visitors have even more opportunities for fun, creative exploration. We look forward to welcoming guests back through the doors on Saturday, September 22.

Last Chance! Visit Special Exhibit, Sid the Science Kid: The Super-Duper Exhibit
Young learners interact with science in creative ways every day: on the playground, in the kitchen, or even in their backyard! Sid the Science Kid: The Super-Duper Exhibit! introduces children to new science concepts through fun, hands-on exploration. Join us for the last days of this special exhibit, before it closes at BADM on September 3.
The last day to visit Sid the Science Kid: The Super-Duper Exhibit! is Monday, September 3 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

New! Special Exhibit My Sky Opens at BADM
The phenomena of the sky might seem far away, but we’re bringing it closer than ever! At BADM’s new traveling exhibit, visitors can have fun exploring the Sun, Moon, and stars through creative, interactive activities. Make a human sundial, practice using a telescope, and take a turn learning about the moon in a giant Moon Dome!
My Sky opens at BADM on Saturday, September 22 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

September Drop-In Programs
Spark children’s curiosity through fun, creative programs at BADM! Daily STEM and art programs encourage children to make something unique, or explore a new interest. In September, children can explore the overlap between art and science with galaxy-themed glow painting, or by using novel tools to observe the visibile light spectrum, among other montlhy offerings.
