All Ages STEM and Art Programs:

How Do You Size Up
Are you as big as a black bear? Can you spread your arms as wide as a pelican’s wings? Find out how you measure up at our interactive animal installation!

Mask Makers
Deep in the Amazon Rainforest live animals that we don’t often get to see, but kids can bring them to life at BADM by designing their own artistic animal masks!

DIY Rainforest
BADM’s Art Studio doors become a gateway to the Amazon! Children will use stencils to create flora to add to a collaborative rainforest and make the transformation complete.

3+ STEM Programs:

Arctic Animals
Living in California it can be hard to imagine extreme cold, but Arctic Animals love it! Children explore the animals that live in the most wintery climate, and the adaptations that help them survive.

Waste Not
When you’re making dinner, what seems like trash could actually be nutritious treasure! Explore the compost process and learn how food scraps and waste can be repurposed into soil that helps more food grow.

Touch Tank
Children get hands-on with algae, kelp, and seaweed samples to notice the different way each feels! Microscopes will help children notice tiny organisms like plankton living among the plants.

5+ STEM Programs:

Redwoods at Work
Our local Redwoods may stand still, but they are always hard at work! Children will explore how these trees keep the air clean, and what they can do to protect this important process.

Ocean Plastic Cleanup
The toughest problems require the most innovative solutions. Kids will use their creative-thinking skills to design a device that can remove plastic from the oceans.

Reef Research
A closer look can reveal things you never imagined. Using a microscope, kids view coral samples before sketching what they see on a large-scale drawing board. They’ll also explore how 3-D printing technology—like that in BADM’s Fab Lab—is used to restore coral reefs all over the world!

Reef Rescue
After designing a piece of coral or a unique fish, children will add their creation to our collaborative reef and explore how every living thing can impact the overall ecosystem.

Reef Restoration
Coral reefs are believed to be the most diverse ecosystems on the planet. Children will add to the diversity of our collaborative reef by designing a fish or piece of coral that's unlike any other.
