Bringing BADM to You – Bay Area Discovery Museum

Bringing BADM to You

To help you navigate becoming a full-time, at-home educator, we are Bringing BADM to You with a series of tips and playful activities created by BADM educators. Every activity relates to one of three areas of early childhood development – Talk & Play, Science & Math, or Body & Brain. Within each theme, you’ll find step-by-step videos, activities with written-out instructions, and tips to turn everyday moments into meaningful experiences.

Just like all of the programs and exhibits you enjoy at BADM, each activity is research-backed and designed so children achieve one or more of BADM’s seven learning goals.

Weekly Themes

Our Bringing BADM to You series is designed to help you support your child’s at-home learning, through fun, playful activities created by BADM educators. Every activity relates to one of three areas of early childhood development – Talk & Play, Science & Math, or Body & Brain.

Talk-Play

Talk & Play

These activities build children's vocabulary and social skills through play. You can boost this through the conversations you have (even if your children can’t answer yet!), the questions you ask, and the variety of experiences you provide them.
Science-Math

Science & Math

Bring science and math to life! This theme focuses on exploring the science and math in everyday life which helps your child understand these subjects, build complex thinking skills, and become stronger readers.
Body-Brain

Body & Brain

Activities in the Body & Brain category help children develop planning, self-control, and attention skills. The research shows that children who show strong early development of these skills are more likely to do well in school.
